Taking the exterior stairs of a traditional two-storey Lebanese red-tiled roof house leads to the niched restaurant and bar Lei.

Marked by its considerable length, a long wooden bar traversing the rooms of the house, allows guests to gather throughout the entire space. The house’s existing walls are reinforced with concrete, uncovering the original terracotta bricks via large openings, while a stainless steel mesh curtain creates a see-through partition. The glazed ceiling, revealing the roof’s original timber trusses, allows natural light to softly illuminate through the tiles into the space.
